Comments from a reader:

I have just finished reading Breaking the Chain of Low Self-Esteem. Two weeks ago my Rabbi told me that you cannot cure yourself until you know you are sick. I think you would call the same thing "awareness". Both the Rabbi and to a greater degree, your book, have not only made me aware, but I was on the path of rehabilitation before I had finished reading Chapter 1. I am 62 years old and have lived in the wilderness of low self esteem. Your book is the harbinger of change. Now I will read it again.

Thank you most sincerely,

David, Hollywood, Florida

Thankyou so much for this great website. Im 37 and for as long as I can remember Ive always felt this way. Every word Ive just read was like reading my own life story. It really has restricted my whole life in so many ways and Im definately not living the way I want to. On a very low day, you've made me feel so much better and now I know I am not alone. Thankyou thankyou thankyou...

I wanted to understand how your books are supposed to undo everything that has made me so neurotic. I scored 39 on your LSE test. I have a lot to undo. I am a caregiver, which doesn't help, since most of my clients have it too.. I am seeing the same problem in my older son, who is now in jail, denying he ever had any skills. Does my trying to build him up make his self image worse for him? For me if someone gives me a compliment, and I feel like the opposite is true, I get depressed. I worry that I did pass on my problems to my kids. I want to fix us all, but cannot afford to invest in your books yet. Are there any mantras I can use daily. Right now the only way I get through my days is with the love of my very patient husband, and my faith in God. However, I feel failing both of them. I am so low now, I am scared.

I'm middle aged & still not truly HAPPY .... I've tried a lot of things but really think my low self esteem is my true culprit! I've been lucky/blessed to have a good family growing up & one of my own but I want to be happy especially for me and those loved ones around me. I try to fight sad w/humor, but sad always wins and I only want sad to be around when it's appropriate not just because of my over-active & off-the-wall feelings. Going on the web & finding this location has given me renewed HOPE.
We just can't give up but boy is it hard sometimes!!!! My best to all those feeling the same. JN

Dr. Sorenson ~ I am extremely interesting in promoting the study of self-esteem, raising self-esteem and helping others. I work with homeless recovering addicts here in Sacramento at a local Salvation Army Emergency Shelter. Thank you for all your good work.
